I let the wind in my house
To move things around, change the temperature
He was a Norther I found
And a wild wind, blowing strong and sure

I let the Norther be loud
And his screaming was, all that I could hear
He made my windows shake
Almost shattered glass, shades rolled up in fear

This Norther was fresh
Air I could breathe
My house was a mess
Babe can’t you see?

He tossed around my sink
Cleaned a dirty dish, swept beneath the fridge
I watched the dust balls roll out
Things I never missed, like a grocery list

Climbed up the stairs
He stormed down the hall
Pictures would fall
People would call

But I liked the Norther’s howl
Whirlwind energy, opened every room
He at a hurricane pace
Moved my furniture, cleaned my fireplace

This Norther was fresh
Air I could breathe
My house was a mess
Babe can’t you see?

Then he moved his weather down south
And I’m busy now, cleaning up my house
But I think that some things will stay
Way that Norther blew, on that windy day

That Norther was fresh
Air I could breathe
But I liked the mess
Norther made me
